The Nkore saying ” Akabwa Keiba Kaihura Omugongo Gw’ ako,” literally meaning that a stealing dog pays or loses its back, can well explain a situation which the emeritus Archbishop of the church of Uganda, Stanley Ntagali is experiencing following his adulterous acts to a Reverand’s wife.
Latest on the Parrots UG news desk indicates that Rev Christopher Tugumehabwe, the husband to a woman said to have lured the former Archbishop into adultery has petitioned Court seeking UGX 500M as compensation for the damages caused to his marriage life.
Rev. Christopher through his lawyers of Bikangiso & CO. Adovocates, wants Archbishop Ntagali to compensate him with UGX 530M after confessing having an affair with his wife Judith Tukamuhabwa.
Last week on Thursday, Ntagali confessed publicly that he committed adultery with Judith, wife to Reverend Christopher and sought for forgiveness both from the church and the victimized family.
“I fell into sin of adultery and I confessed to the Lord to forgive me and I want the church to forgive me. My brother bishops, all our partners, brothers and sisters in the vineyard of the lord, the entire church of Uganda and all our partners all over the world and the family Rev Christopher his wife Judith, the two families please forgive me. And I want to remain closer to Jesus,” Ntagali confessed.
Despite the public apologies made, the victimized husband demands that his ‘matrimonial cake thief’ – Ntagali makes a personal apology to him on top of paying a Shs 500 million compensation as the damages caused to him.
In a petition by the Reverend’s lawyers, the petitioner states that the Archbishop caused various damages to his life and marriage such as loss of dignity, trauma, marriage breakdown, and loss of his job as lecturer at Bishop Stuart University college in Mbarara.
“Your unbecoming, sinful and unlawful conducts have occasioned our client general damages to wit- loss of dignity, marriage break down, stress, trauma, embarrassment, loss of privacy… and minimal chances to rise in the clergy ranks,” reads excerpts of the suit.
He further accuses the Archbishop of encouraging Tukamuhabwa to ask for divorce before Kabale Magistrate’s Court on claims of cruelty. He claims that this was after Ntagali slept and impregnated his wife.
The lawyers have now given the former Archbishop 14 days ultimatum within which to pay their client UGX 500M as damages and UGX 30M as their legal fees or else prepare to face them in court.
These threatened to drag the Archbishop into court should he fail to comply within the given 14 days.
“Should you fail to comply with the above demands made therein with in a period of 14 days from the date of receipt of this notice, we have been given “a green Iight” by our client to drag you to court at your own cost, detriment, further embarrassment and peril.” read the notice.
