Magembe Sabbiiti, a freelance journalist at Nation Media Group’s- NTV is dead.
The journalist according to his colleague, Herbert Kamoga was earlier this morning involved in a nasty road accident in Mubende district and was rushed to Mubende hospital where he breathed his last.
“Its a sad morning our colleague and our correspondent at NTV Uganda in Mubende district, Magembe Sabbiiti has been involved in a nasty accident this morning and has passed on while at Mubende hospital where he had been rushed for treatment.” Kamoga said in a Facebook post.
Kamoga has defined the deceased as a hardworking person who had passion for his job and profession.
“He (Magembe) has not only been a good friend but also a brother. We have lost a very hardworking man. May Angels receive you Sabiiti, till we meet again.” he eulogies.
NTV also confirmed to the reports of the death of their reporter but did not divulge into details of the accident.
“SAD NEWS: With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the death of Sabbiiti Magembe who has been our correspondent in Mubende district. He died in Mubende hospital where he was rushed after he was knocked by a taxi this morning.
May his soul rest in peace!” NTV tweeted.
By the time of his death, Magembe was the station’scorrespondent in Mubende district and other neighbouring areas.
The details of Magembe’s death have not yet been known but our team will keep you updated.
