The National Unity Platform (NUP) elections Management Committee (EMC) has announced dates for vetting of individuals aspiring for members of parliament on the party ticket.
Addressing journalists at party headquarters Harriet Chemutia, the EMC chairperson disclosed that they have set Monday 15th to 21st September 2025 as days to Carry out vetting process.
Chemutia added that they will start with Wakiso District, West-Nile and Kigezi region on Monday 15th, then Kampala city, Acholi and Ankole on 16th, Greater Masaka, Lango and Tooro on 17th, Greater Mpigi, Karamoja and Bunyoro on 18th, Greater Mukono, Sebie, Teso and Rwenzori on 19th, Greater Mubende, Bugisu and Bukedi on 20th and lastly Greater Luweero and Busoga on 21st.
The party called upon the candidates who picked forms of Interests to get all required documents including, party ticket, Academic documents, expression of interest forms among others to avoid confusion.
During the press conference, EMC condemned the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for deliberately deny NUP’s candidates to be nominated in recently concluded LCV chairpersons and Councillors.
It should be recalled that during the ongoing local government nominations exercise, some candidates, many of them NUP flag bearers were bounced back on allegations of lack of some requirements by the Electoral Commission. But Chemutai cautioned that this should not happen in the coming parliamentary nomination exercise.
