Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu have dismissed as deliberate falsifications documents by Thembo Kitsumbire impersonating as the kingdom agent.

In the documents seen by Parrots Media, Kitsumbire intends to petition the International Court of Justice accusing international bodies including the United Nations, European Union, East African Community, and African Union accusing them of failing to resolve conflicts in Eastern DRC and Rwenzori Sub-region.

“To petion the UN, EU, AU and EAC to the International Court of Justice for failing to find out the solution of the constant wars in Eastern Congo and western Uganda (Rwenzori) basin that has been there for two hundred years, that’s from 1830-2024, yet they call themselves peacekeepers of the region”, said Kitsumbire in the documents.

On Wednesday, the minister of information also the Kingdom spokesperson, Hon. Geoffrey Kanyonyi said Kitsumbire does not represent the Kingdom and that the documents contain gross imprecision and deliberate falsifications of historical actualities.

According to Kanyonyi, there has never been Yiira State struggles as claimed by Kitsumbire. He clarified that the kingdom only faced struggles for recognition of Bakonzo-Bamba between 1830-1982, which were resolved with the descension of Omusinga from the mountains on August 15, 1982, known as the “Rwenzururu Movement”.

The kingdom has accused Kitsumbire of impersonation and self-seeking interests, stating that he has never held a rank in the OBR structure. Minister Kanyonyi called for a thorough investigation into Kitsumbire’s actions and warned the public to be cautious of individuals who may seek to disrupt the peace and security of Obusinga.

“OBR as a cultural institution is here to distance itself from the incessant actions of Mr. Thembo Kitsumbire of attaching the kingdom to his self interests of the Yiira State”, said Minister Kanyonyi. ” Kitsumbire has never been at a rank of Rt. Hon as he addresses himself in the OBR structure.”

Minister Kanyonyi said that the kingdom will not tolerate any kind of misconduct likely to distract the peace and security of Obusinga. He called for thorough investigation into Kitsumbire’s actions and warned the public from dealing with such schemers.
“We are committed to fully cooperate with all stakeholders to identify agents of disharmony to avoid situations that may disrupt the peace and tranquility that we all have”, Minister Kanyonyi said, calling for a private and isolated approach to addressing the matter, separate from the OBR.
