Security forces in Kyotera District successfully foiled an aggravated robbery on July 22 involving UGX 50 million stolen from the Mazima Bugaga Coffee Factory.
According to police reports, five armed assailants ambushed the factory manager and fled with the cash. In a swift and coordinated response, officers pursued the suspects toward Masaka, intercepting them in Kizigo Village. A confrontation ensued, during which one suspect identified as Ssenyuumu Lawrence was fatally shot. The remaining four suspects managed to escape and are currently on the run.
Authorities recovered two firearms, a motorcycle bearing registration number UFV 988N, and other key exhibits from the scene. A manhunt is underway to apprehend the fugitives and bring them to justice.
