The Police child and family protection unit of Otuke central police station is stranded with an 8 year old lost child whom they have been taking care of for the last three months and has not been claimed.

Elizabeth Abwol the OC Child and Family protection unit at Otuke central police station told reports that they got reports from their counterparts of Adwari police station about the child who was suspected to have got lost from Agago district and it was taken to Otuke CPS.

Abwol said the child has trouble speaking and is suspected to be suffering from nodding syndrome and has since failed to reveal the parents’ identity.

She said that they have been traversing Otuke district with the child
in search for the relatives in vain.

Abwol said that recently police from North Kyoga regional police headquarters advised them to take the child to Agago where it is suspected to have hailed from to easily identify the relatives.

Police of Otuke CPS yesterday consequently handed over the child to
their counterparts of district.
