The long – waited vehicle donated by christians to the West Ankole Diocese (WAD) Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has finally arrived.
The Chair Person of the Purchasing Committee, Winston Katushabe handed over the grey Land Cruiser Prado 2023 Model, with registration number UBP 933X, to the Bishop at his residence Bweranyangi on Saturday December 30.
According to the Diocesan Information and Communications Officer, Bright Niwaha, the Purchasing Committee chairman together with the director manifesto implementation unit (NRM), in the office of the president, Willis Bashasha who also doubles as WAD head of Laity, and other jubilant committee members witnessed the brief ceremony.
Chairman Katushabe commended the committee of their efforts and time to ensure that the vehicle was purchased and handed over to the Bishop. He also appreciated ordinary christians for their kindness and generosity to support the campaign.
He thanked the Bishop and the entire clergy for entrusting the team with the exercise.
The Head of Laity, Willis Bashasha on the other hand applauded christians for giving the Bishop a convenient means of transport which he said will ease his pastoral movements across and outside the Diocese.
“… the car will strengthen the service of the Bishop within and outside the Diocese,” said Bashasha.
Speaking shortly after the handover ceremony, Bishop Twinomujuni who was in the company of Maama Joy Twinomujuni, hailed christians for facilitating their Bishop’s ministry in a number of ways.
The Bishop equally thanked the President for gifting him with a car on his consecration in 2014, which has been his only vehicle for the last seven years.
He prayed for a blessing upon all christians and wished them well in a new year 2024.
