A primary seven pupil at St. Jude boarding primary school in Bukansimbi district has committed suicide by hanging after class teacher warned him of coupling in school.
The deceased is Paul Luyimbazi, a male juvenile aged 14 years old son of Ssembatya Gerevasio. He committed the stressful act on Thursday October 20 at around 1000/c.
It is alleged that the class teacher Nagayi Jacent, 55 years was counseling the candidates against coupling a prohibited vice in schools. She allegedly asked the learners to write the names of those they suspect to be coupling and the name of the deceased with another girl was read.
The teacher reportedly instructed the two culprits to go to the staff room for a private counselling and they went out of class. However, while the girl went to the staff room, the boy went to the Library where he hanged himself and died
Police reports indicate that when the teacher finished counseling the learners and went to counsel the two from staffroom, he found only the girl and told her to call the boy since she had seen him enter the Library. She went to the Library and on opening the door, she saw the boy hanging on the rope and ran to call the teacher.
A case of suicide was reported to police by Nagayi, a teacher at same school and resident of Kirembeko cell, Bukomansimbi Town coucil, Bukomansimbi district.
Police led by the Bukomansimbi DPC, D/CID/O, SOCO and other police officers arrived at the scene and processed it. The body of the deceased was taken to Masaka hospital mortuary for autopsy meanwhile as investigation into the matter continues
