Faith Alupo, the Woman Member of Parliament for Pallisa district is reportedly dead.
According to the info at hand, Alupo’s untimely death occured last evening at Mulago National Referral hospital. Parliament also confirmed the blacksmith news on the parliamentary twitter handle.
“Parliament has learnt with sorrow of the untimely death of Hon Faith Alupo, Woman MP for Pallisa District which occurred at Mulago Hospital. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” Parliament confirmed through a tweet.
The cause of her death is not yet known however, a close family source said the deceased has been receiving treatment for Hypertension (BP) and Diabetes.
Hellen Kaweesa, the Director of Communications at Parliament, said a postmortem report on the cause of the legislators death will be released soon.
“What we are aware of now is that we have lost a Member of Parliament. She died last evening, a statement will be taken out as soon as we have all the facts,” she said
Alupo joined Parliament in June 2018 through a by-election in which she replaced Hon. Agnes Amede who had crossed to represent the newly created Butebo District that was cut from Pallisa.
She had participated in the recently concluded NRM primary elections on the same position but lost to Ms.Kevin Kaala.
