The Parliament of Uganda has set two hours of mourning in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.
In a special plenary due this day Wednesday, 14 September 2022, MPs are scheduled to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom ignoring her contributions towards building strong relations among the commonwealth states.
Speaking during a house plenary on Tuesday, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa asked MPs to emulate Queen Elizabeth’s lifelong servant hood.

Queen Elizabeth II passed on 08 September 2022 in Scotland.
A motion to honor the Queen by the parliament of Uganda will be will be moved by government, the Government Chief Whip, Hon. Hamson Obua, confirmed.
Speaker Anita Among on 12 September 2022 signed the condolence book at the British High Commssion in Kampala.
Replaced by her son, King Charles III, the Queen was the Patron of the Commonwealth Association of which the Parliament of Uganda is a member.
She has been replaced by her son, King Charles III and the UK national anthem has been altered to God Bless the King.
