The committee of defence and internal affairs has today cautioned the leadership of Executive members of the Exodus SACCO .
The Chairperson of the committee Rosemary Nyakikongolo says that they have found it wanting for the sacco to put into action its services to the intended beneficiaries who are police officers.
While meeting the executive members of the Exodus SACCO, the Chairperson of the committee of defence and internal affairs Hon Rosemary Nyakikongolo who is also the woman member of Parliament for Sheema district said they will also find time and meet the beneficiaries of the SACCO to rule out whether they are satisfied with businesses are being conducted especially how they are saving and withdrawing their hard earned money.
Hon Nakikongolo says that since the police men go through a hustle they need to utilise their money anytime they want but the act of withdrawing two times a year does make sense.
Senior commissioner of police (scp) Dr. Wilson Otuna Omoding told the committee that they do not force anyone to save as stated by some members of parliament but those who save have been asked to withdraw twice a year to enable the accumulation of funds for the good of both the sacco and people, he said that they are in the process of sensitizing these officers because it is a requirement
Members of parliament in this committee led by Sauda Kawuma have expressed concern in the queries by the Exodus SACCO leaders saying that it’s the right of a person to withdraw there savings anytime.
