Woman arrested for sorcery in Gulu
Police in Gulu is holding a 30-year-old suspect who was captured on CCTV cameras committing sorcerous acts at Kaunda grounds.
The suspected witch is Stella Auma, a resident of Koch-Goma sub county in Nwoya district. She was allegedly caught on CCTV cameras at Gulu Central Police Station CCTV camera control room stripping naked, dancing and performing rituals related to sorcery locally known as Myelo Jok at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu City on Sunday night.
The footages sparked off public uproar and police responded immediately to make arrests.
Otim (first name withheld), a resident, told Parrots UG that sorcery in Gulu city is on rise the acts he says still keep the area in primitive economy. He alleges that the suspect is a known witch in the area.
Auma is currently being detained at CPS Gulu on charges of performing sorcerous acts and being a public nuisance
