Police in the Greater Masaka region has said that the Global Bus accident in Lwengo is a result of slippery road surface.
Earlier today (August 28) at around 11:00 AM, a bus registration number UBN 985M belonging to Global Coaches was involved in accident at Kyekurura, Kinoni in Lwengo district along Mbarara – Kampala Highway.
One person sustained serious injuries in the accident while dozens others sustained minor injuries and we’re rushed to nearby health centres by the locals who responded first to the scene

ASP Kasirye Twaha, the Greater Masaka Public Relations Officer has blamed the accident on slippery road surface following an early morning downpour.
“The driver of the bus lost control due to the slippery road conditions caused by heavy rain,”
Kasirye said that Ambulance vehicles are being awaited to transfer the injured passengers to Masaka Referral Hospital for further medical attention.
He cautioned all drivers to avoid over speeding in order to prevent accidents caused by slippery roads especially during this rainy season.
