Kenyan police ferrying security team to Moyale Marsabit crashes in Meru injuring many passengers on board.
Patrick Lumumba, the Meru county Boss confirmed the news of the police chopper crash in Kithooka forest earlier today Saturday June13th. No death was registered.
According to reports, the team was heading to Moyale for a joint security meeting with their Eastern Counterparts. On board were Eastern Regional Commissioner and his security team.
He said that Police arrived at the scene to desperse the onlookers and calm down the situation.
Charles Owino, the police spokesperson stated that the chopper had six occupants, 2 pilots and 4passengers- all of them are members of Eastern security team.
He added that injured passengers have been rushed to Meru Level 5 hospital as authorities await for an Air force which has been dispatched to Airlift them to Nairobi hospital.
