The police has said they are to carry out more biological samples of the four unidentified bodies of the Lhubiriha school students who were burnt to death during the terrible attack by suspected ADF rebels on June 16, 2023.
While addressing a joint security press at the police headquarters in Naguru, the Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga said that last week they gave a list of matched persons totalling 11 and now have an additional three which brings it to 14 matched persons to the human remains, leaving a balance of four children from the school attack .
According to Enanga, out of the pending seven bodies, the seventh was of a girl victim who was recovered dead and in a decomposing state in DRC making it the 18th. The body was identified as that of Bira Aminah Rashid (17) and it matched to the DNA samples of the mother, Kyakwima Getruda , it had been buried halfway but they noticed she had died a very painful death because it is thought that she was just slaughtered as the neck was almost severed off.
Police also listed the matched Biological test results as for; Atwanzire Edgar (16), whose samples matched those of the biological mother, Kenja Josephine
Muhindo Royz (18) matched those of the biological father, Mbusa Julius.
“We continue to call upon more relatives to come forward to give us more biological samples so that we can successfully match the samples to the human remains of children that were burnt,” Enanga said.
Efforts are in place to pick more biological samples for the remaining four so that the police can have them identified and also handed over to their relatives.
