The Mityana Police have put a serious manhunt for three male inmates who escaped from Mityana government Prison on 6th December 2023.
SP Racheal Kawala, the PRO Wamala region said the inmates, four in numbers were being escorted to their wards after meals when they jumped over the fence but one was successfully rearrested while others escaped.
“They are Mfitumukiza Francis 24, from Rubange village, Murora Sub county, kisoro district facing charges of murder and aggravated robbery, Nasasira Gideon 37, a resident of Muko village Muko Sub county Rubanda district, charged with aggravated robbery,“ said Kawala.
Another is Hakiza Joseph, 27, a resident of Nyarubuye sub county, Kisoro district facing charges of aggravated defilement.
A case of escape from lawful custody has been registered under Mityana CRB1197 and the search for escapes is ongoing. Police urges anyone with information about the suspects to contact police at 0800300118 | 075771996.
