KAMPALA: Police in Kampala have intercepted and deflated car tyres of a vehicle which was carrying jerrican of diesel suspected to have been stolen.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, said the vehicle registration number UAU 661Y, was intercepted at Naalya roundabout.
“Our Police officers on duty at Naalya roundabout , intercepted vehicle registration number UAU 661Y with Jerricans full of diesel fuel, suspected to be stolen,” Owoyesigyire said.
The vehicle tyres were deflated as the driver tried to speed off.
The vehicle has been towed and is currently parked at Kira Division.
ASP Owoyesigyire has said that efforts to track down the driver who is on run are ongoing.
