The Uganda police has asked Ugandans to always keep their travel and other daily routines information private from social media which may be a threat to their lives by the enemies targeting them.
“We want to caution the public against updating people about your daily routines. Ugandans out of excitement, love and friendship they share their private lives on social media which makes it easy for the enemies to trace your movements,” Enanga warned
The call has been made by the police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga while speaking to journalists on the state of security in the country.
This follows a fatal incident inwhich the Kamwokya church zone councillor, James Kakooza was brutally killed by unknown assailants while on early morning run.
Enanga says the deceased had on the fateful morning updated his status in one of the community WhatsApp groups about his morning’s dew road work. This according to police might have made it possible for the killers to track the councillor’s movements thus killing him.
Kakooza was on Saturday killed at Centenary park in Kampala after unknown assailants hit him with a blunt metal two times in the head while he was on the daily routine run. This according to police is a pattern that had been mastered by the enemies
Police says that one suspect (identity not disclosed) has so far been arrested to help police in investigation
