“I don’t intend to seek re-election in the forthcoming 2021 elections,” Hon Winnie Kiiza.

Kiiza made the announcements earlier today while she was addressing members of the media at her office in Kasese town bidding farewell to her voters  whom she has served for the last three terms in Parliament.

She revealed that many people have been making phone calls inquiring about her stake in the 2021 elections but never disclosed her position because she wanted to unfold this in the media for the public and voters to get her stand.

Kiiza who admits she has talked a lot about democracy expressed concerns to start practicing what she has for many times preached.

“I have talked a lot against overstaying in power and I want to lead by example,” she said

She added; “I can only feel successful when I participate in an election of my successor because together we can shape the destiny of our community.”

Although Kiiza said farewell to the people of Kasese, she has vowed never to give up in the fight to continue looking for the desired change and participation in national politics.

“As I’m about to leave, I want to give assurance that I will not hold on to the struggle for good governance, human dignity, equality and justice,” pledges Kiiza.
