The Acting Director for Private Sector Foundation, Uganda (PSF) Francis Kisirinya has called on government to halt the 12 percent tax that was levied on the internet.
Kisirinya says halting the 12% Internet tax will ease the mode of doing business online amid COVID-19 hard economy.
Parliament passed a 12% tax on Internet data removing the daily 200 shillings over the top tax (OTT) that Ugandans were paying to access Internet services.
According to Kisirinya, the outbreak of covid-19 in the country has paralysed all physical businesses which has affected many of the entrepreneurs who have resorted to doing business online.
