Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has implored disarrayed members to return to their party as the new year starts.
Robert Centenary, the party Vice Chairperson for Western region also the former member of parliament for Kasese Municipality said on Thursday that they are working towards reconciliation, unity and party building in the new year.
“We want to open a new leaf, a new chapter in our lives as FDC to focus on reconciliation, unity and party building,” said Centenary.
He added, “Whoever is out there, I can authoritatively speak as the vice chairperson of the party that the doors and windows are open including the fences for those who jumped over the fences. […] We look forward to welcome you.”
Centenary was speaking to journalists at the landmark celebration of Christmas Carols at FDC headquarters Najjanankumbi on Thursday.
The Christmas Carols are a precasor for the party’s new regime first National Council meeting due tomorrow, Friday December 15, 2023, at Najjanankumbi.
Over 300 delegates from across the country are expected to attend the national council meeting.
On December 4, John Kikonyogo, the FDC party spokesperson told journalists at a conference that the meeting will deliberate on the state of the party and find way forward for other important decisions of the party such as holding elections in over 30 districts that did not participate in grassroot structure elections.
