Residents in Kabale on Sunday rushed to the scene collecting leaking content after a fuel tanker overturned.
The incident happened in Kabaraga hill along the Kabale – Mbarara highway when a fuel tanker registration number KBU812 / ZD7588 transporting hazzardeous fuel overturned.
Although Ugandans have been warned to avoid places and approaching fuel trucks that have got accidents and other mechanical problems on roads, many have refused to listen.
Almost every person who was near the scene were carrying different measurements of leaking fuel inspire of the likely dangers.
Police arrived at the scene but did not manage to control residents from collecting and nearing harmful contents.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson said that the wreckages of the vehicle were impounded to CPS Kabale for IOV inspection and a case of serious road accident recorded under reference number TAR 108/2022 as investigations into the cause of the accident are underway
