Kyomya will be deputised by Dr. Christine Kirungi Tasobya as the vice chairperson. “In February and October this year, we graduated over 3,600 students and we hope the number will keep increasing and that we need a big space for the function,” he said.

He expressed a need to promote the use of IT systems to support flexible E_ learning, virtual learning that will also increase in numbers.

“With this new technology, some candidates will acquire skills and competencies while seated in their offices and sitting rooms through E and Virtual learning systems,” he said.

The vice chancellor further disclosed that plans to establish a fully flegged science faculty, that is Engineering and health sciences is in high gears noting that this will be achieved as soon as they get a permanent home at Sentema.

On his part, Dr. Leonard Lubega pledged to use his prior expertise on the committee to boost activities of the university.

“What you’re raising here is not new, we had it in our plans, it’s a matter of implementing them and we shall do,” he said.
