Rotarian Agnes Mungati Batengas the District Governor for Rotary International District 9214 covering Uganda and Tanzania commissioned and visited projects being implemented by Rotary and Rotaract Clubs in Kasese during her official visit on Tuesday 21st January 2025.
Batengas commissioned a 4 stance washroom project at RAP CD school of Children Living With Disabilities in Kidodo cell, Kasese Municipality. The UGX 12 million project was implemented by the Rotary Club of Kasese Snow Peaks in Partnership with the Rotaract club of Kasese through a local contractor EKA Engineering Associates Ltd.
“What you are doing in your community is very impactful and this is what makes us Rotarians,” Governor Batengas said as she commissioned the project.
She also lauded the Rotary Club of Kasese for partnering with Rukoki Model Primary School to re-paint Dormitories at the school, donate wheel chairs to children with disabilities and empower them through skills training.
Tobia Karaha Kyomuhendo the president Rotary Club of Kasese thanked the District Governor for sparing her time to visit these projects in the region and thanked members for their committed support.
Tobia disclosed that the Rotary club of Kasese had donated a sum of $3555 to The Rotary Foundation and sponsored Rotaractors to attend the Rotary Youth Leaders Academy (RYLA) among others.
During her visit, Governor Batengas inducted 3 New Rotarians and pinned 3 Rotarians as Paul Harris Fellows.
