OBITUARY
Musabyimana Gloriose, widely known by her stage name Gogo in gospel music circles, has passed away at the age of 36.
The news of her death, which occurred in Kampala, Uganda, broke on the morning of September 4, 2025.
Her passing was confirmed by Bikem wa Yesu, her media and promotions manager. In a message shared on social media, Bikem wrote:
“R.I.P Gogo, such heartbreaking news! Lord, strengthen my heart.”
Bikem had accompanied Gogo to Uganda for a series of concerts, including one held at Pastor Wilson Bugembe’s church.
Gogo and her team departed Rwanda on August 28, 2025, heading to Uganda for a gospel crusade held from August 29 to 31 in Mbarara. After the event, on August 31, they traveled to Kampala for scheduled engagements with a promotional company.
Upon arriving in Kampala, Gogo’s health began to deteriorate. Although she had a known heart condition, many assumed it was a minor episode. Unfortunately, her condition worsened, and she was rushed to Kyengera Doctors Center, where she passed away shortly after arrival.
Gogo was beloved for her spiritually uplifting songs and her thoughtful, message-driven lyrics. Her hit song “Every Day, I Need Blood of Jesus” gained widespread popularity and opened doors for other tracks like “Uwo Mwana.”
Born in 1989 in Rwamagana, Eastern Province of Rwanda, Gogo was a devoted Christian and member of the Anglican Church. She lost both her parents at a young age.
