Senior Four (S.4) candidates whose Continuous Assessment (CA) scores and project work are not submitted to UNEB risk being upgraded if their schools heads do not submit the scores by the end of business today, October 30.
The warning was issued by UNEB as today marks the last day for the submission of project work and Continuous Assessment (CA) Scores for S4 Candidates, under the New Lower Secondary Curriculum.
“All those responsible for the submission of this school based assessment work for the candidates are hereby put on notice to ensure that they do so before closure of business today,” said Jennifer Kalule Musamba, UNEB Principal Public Relations Officer.
According to UNEB, CA contributes 20% to each student’s final grade, making it an essential component of the candidates’ overall evaluation. UNEB states, highlights the importance of continuous assessment in ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of students’ capabilities and understanding of the curriculum. This means that failure submit the results could impact the student’s academic progression and future opportunities.
CA scores are uploaded via the Assessment Management Information System (AMIS) on the schools’ online portals. However, UNEB says that they have put in place a Rapid Response Team to assist schools experiencing technical challenges regarding uploading of their scores online.
“For avoidance of doubt, UNEB has set up a Rapid Respond Team to support schools that may be finding challenges in uploading the work of the candidates. Schools can call our toll free lines; 0800- 111-427 or 0800-211-077 for guidance,” said Kalule.
” Alternatively, schools can submit scores and project work on CDs directly to UNEB’s offices in Kyambogo or Ntinda, where the Response Team will help upload the data to the AMIS portal.”
Parents and guardians have been urged to verify with schools to ensure that their children’s CA scores and project work have been submitted to avoid last minute inconveniences.
