Security operatives have launched a manhunt for a Updf officer after he killed two of his colleagues and injured another in Fort Portal.
Col. Deo Akiki, the Defence Deputy Spokesperson has identified the suspect as Cpl Avugo Lomuro attached to Mountain Division Signal Department attached to the Airforce Evacuation Component in Fort Portal city.
Col. Akiiki said the suspect used a gun to shoot and kill the victims and injured another before taking on his heels.
“The hunt is on for this errant soldier is on to make sure that he faces courts of law and he answers for his crimes,” Col Akiiki said
The defense deputy spokesman did not disclose details of the deceased soldiers but said the information will be availed to their next of kin families.
He condemned the act of the soldier stating that the force had clear and well defined mechanisms of handling internal grievances which the killer soldier did not followed.
