A security guard in Nakasongola District is on run after he allegedly stole over UgX 100 million from a mobile money dealer.
The suspect is Ojambo Nicholas, a private guard at J Unit Security Limited in Nakasongola. He committed the offence on Saturday January 8, 2022, at around 2pm.
According to the Savannah region police spokesperson Issa Semogerere, Ojambo waylaid the mobile money dealer (identity not disclosed) to a bushy feeder where he put the victim on a gunpoint before he could runaway with the money and a victim’s Toyota PickUp car.
He then abandoned the vehicle and his gun inside at Katuugo town council police checkpoint and took off.
Semogerere says that Ojambo is alleged to be hiding in Northern Uganda and a search is ongoing.
