KAMPALA
National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has accused security agencies of plotting against the opposition but urged his supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
“We know that there are so many evil plans against us by the military and the police,” Kyagulanyi told journalists at his home on Monday afternoon.
He, however, cautioned his supporters against violence, saying their conduct would be judged by both local and international observers.
“We continue to encourage all of you, our comrades, to be non-violent, disciplined and law-abiding citizens because the world is watching and they will judge us by our actions,” he said.
Kyagulanyi had planned to hold two campaign rallies in Kampala, one in Kamwokya and another at Aga Khan Grounds in Kampala Central Division.
However, security blocked the Kamwokya rally, arguing that NUP could not hold two rallies within the same area.
“We were meant to have two rallies, one in Kamwokya and another in Old Kampala at Aga Khan Grounds. Unfortunately, our rally in Kamwokya has been blocked,” Kyagulanyi said.

He added that the party would proceed with only one rally at Aga Khan Grounds.
“So we are going to have only one rally. Nevertheless, the people of Kampala Central and beyond will be watching and following us,” he said.
Kyagulanyi called on residents of Kampala to turn up in large numbers to listen to his manifesto at Aga Khan Grounds.
“So we invite all of you to follow us,” he said.
