Kibuli based Muslim sect has appointed Sheik Muhammad Galabuzi as the new Supreme Mufti. Galabuzi will be assisted by sheik Ibrahim Ntanda and sheik Mahad Kakooza as his desputies.The new Supreme Mufti is set to swear in this Friday at Kibuli alongside his two deputies.
He replaces Sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa whose resignation came a few months after the death of outspoken Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata who was the spokesperson of the Kibuli faction.Ndirangwa was appointed Supreme Mufti of the Kibuli-based Muslim faction on December 16, 2015, replacing Shiekh Zubairi Kayongo who died in April 2014.
