The deputy town clerk of Soroti city Abraham Omaido has come out to defend himself following a photo of him showering David king with beer on his birthday. This photo attracted mixed reactions from different social media users.

Pascal Amuriat who is a former mayoral candidate for Soroti city also shared a screenshot of the photo sarcastically captioning it ‘Wastage of taxpayers money.’ This angered some of his followers who reminded him that Omaido is paid a monthly salary therefore he can spend it in any way that he wishes.

‘’ I got a lot of calls and I have asked people to ignore the pic, It was Kings’ birthday and as a friend, I was invited as it was organized by one of the friends from Kampala and it was a surprise party as David King didn’t know about it, People should differentiate between ones’ social life and work as besides my work, I do business that can earn me money, it was my money that I spent’’ Omaido explained.

Mr. Omaido while reacting to the screenshot of the picture that was posted by Pascal Amuriat on social media described the act as one that’s tarnishing his name as he is a man of the people.

He further described Amuriat as a guy who has had issues with them and once fought the creation of the city which isn’t good.
