The Mighty Choir of St. Camillus Chaplaincy, a vibrant Western KIU Catholic-based chaplaincy, is set to host a spectacular Marian Carols fundraiser, themed “Cantate Matri Dei” (Sing to the Mother of God), on September 22, 2024, at St. Camillus Chapel premises.
Hon. Kabura Derrick, Member of Parliament for Ishaka Bushenyi Municipality, is expected to grace the event as the chief guest. The chaplaincy aims to raise 10 million shillings to procure new uniforms for the choir, promoting arts and music while fostering community and spirituality among members.
The “Cantate Matri Dei” theme reflects the chaplaincy’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, promising a joyous celebration of faith, music, and culture.
The Mighty Choir, renowned for their harmonious melodies and uplifting performances, will lead the carols, together with invited choirs, including Kitabi Seminary Choir and St. Dennis Youth Choir from Kitabi Parish.
With strong community support and Hon. Kabura Derrick’s generosity, the chaplaincy’s leadership is optimistic about the event’s success. “We’re thrilled to host this fundraiser and grateful for Hon. Kabura Derrick’s support,” said Winnie, Chaplaincy’s Choir Chairperson.
