The police in Kakumiro district are holding Evaristo Kisakye, 28, a suspect of rape and murder of a 36- year -old woman.
On July7, the victim Kyasimire (now the deceased) was attending to her sick children at Kakindu hospital in Kakumiro when she was allegedly drugged by Kisakye from the toilet to his home where he rapped, killed and later buried her in his garden.
“Kyasimire at night moved out for a short call in the toilet little did she know that one Kisakye was hiding in the toilet. It is alleged that Kisakye drugged Kyasimire from the toilet to his home.” Police reported
Police says that the deceased shoes were found scattered meaning there was a fight.
Fred Enanga, spokesperson for Uganda Police Force confirmed to the arrest of Kisakye (the suspect) after they obtained the information which led them to his home just few metres from the hospital yard.
He explained that police recovered the deceased clothes at the suspect’s home and a fresh grave in the garden where he had buried the victim.
A report by the police doctor, Enanga said, confirmed that Kyasimire was first rapped and later killed because she had scars in her neck and and that her private parts were bleeding
Enanga told journalists at a joint security briefing at Police headquarters – Naguru that Kisakye was arrested at the bus park in Kakumiro attempting to run away from his cases after learning about police hunt for him. He added that he will be brought to book.
Dr. Nicholas Tumwesige, the Kakindo Health Centre IV in-charge said the facility is highly frequented by intruders because it is not fenced something that compromises its security.
‘‘Our health facility has no fence and it is frequented by many people around this area. Our security guards get challenges in restricting people from entering the facility premises.” Dr Tumwesigye said
He appealed to the district leadership to help them and put a fence at this health center to avoid such further occurrences.
