Sheema District inspector of schools Ssempa Muzafaru has commended primary school heads in the greater Bushenyi region for encouraging learners to participate in co-curricular activities.
He was speaking at the music dance and drama competitions for primary schools in the greater Bushenyi sub-region that was held at Kamurinda Primary School in Kagarama sub-county, Sheema district.
Parental Care Nursery School Bushenyi emerged the winner in the competitions which attracted over 15 schools from the five districts that make up the greater Bushenyi.
Desmond Tayebwa, Music Trainer at Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi said music dance and drama helps build confidence and creativity amongst students.
On the other hand, Sam Orikunda, Sheema Deputy Resident Commissioner warned school head teachers from refraining students to participate in co-curricular activities.
During the competetions, three schools nanely; Parental Care Nursery School Bushenyi, Kashozi Boarding PS from Bushenyi and Kanengyere PS in Sheema district were selected to represent Bushenyi sub region at this year’s national music dance and drama competitions which will be held in mbale tomorrow 23rd August 2024.
