Police in Mbarara has arrested three suspects over use of fake medical documents and licenses.
The two suspects are Sunday Dawin and Bob Jones of Ishaka cell B Ishaka ward, Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality Bushenyi District. They have been arrested for allegedly involving themselves in printing and issuing of counterfeit academic documents and false NDA trade licenses.
The duo was arrested during a police and National Drug Authority (NDA) operation to track fake drugs and medical personals on the market.
They were found in possession of false stamps, certificates of enrolment and seals of different nursing institutions in the country and the Uganda Nursing and Midwives council. These would give forged approvals to nursing students as professional medical personnel.
In addition, Akankwasa Christabelle is also behind cells at Mbarara Central Police Statiin after she was found in possession of a fake NDA license in the names of Akankwasa Chris issued to her by Sunday Dawin that she’s been using to operate a drug shop in Mbarara city.
The Assistant Superintendent of Police also the PRO for Rwizi region police, Samson Kasasiira has cautioned members of the publics to always deal with NDA on matters of certification and licenses as well as institutions certified and approved by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
