Three staff of Muni University in Arua have died in a motor accident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning at Aluwi Town Council, Pakwach District.
The deceased have been identified as Rev. Canon Acema Patrick, Chaplain of the University Advent Chapel and Chairman of the Diocesan House of Clergy for Madi and West Nile Diocese, Kennedy Acidri, and Opio.
Preliminary reports indicate that the accident happened at around 3:00am when the vehicle in which they were traveling, an Isuzu Double Cabin, registration number UBF 850H, rammed into a stationary Sino truck along the road.
The trio was travelling back to Arua from Kampala when the tragedy struck. Local authorities and police rushed to the scene to remove the bodies and clear the wreckage.
By press time, postmortems were being conducted as investigations into the cause of the accident continued.
