KAMPALA
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Musa Walugembe has been found dead in his home, state minister for children and youth affairs announced.
“Afande Walugembe passed away peacefully in his sleep, cause of death unknown,” Minister Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi posted on his official X platform.
Wlugembe has been a strong figure at the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Kireka, a division that handles sensitive and high-profile cases in Uganda.
He was also a reputable Prince in the Buganda Kingdom, and often regarded to as a Prince from Nakifuma. Minister Barugahara described Walugembe as a brave officer who leaves behind a lasting legacy.
“Uganda has lost a brave soul. His legacy of loyalty and service will forever be remembered,” he said.
By Press time, police was yet to issue an official statement regarding Walugembe’s death and funeral arrangements.
