It was all celebrations at St. John The Evangelist Minor Seminary in Kasese as twin brothers were ordained priests today February6, 2021.
The twins were among the 12 deacons who were ordained priests in the diocese.
They are Rev. Fr. Peter Isingoma Katuramu and Rev. Fr. Andrew Kato Katuramu, the born of Kasanga catholic parish in Kasese diocese.
In an interview with the Daily Monitor reporter in June2019, the parents of the twins, Mr Siriako Kambere Kibikyabo and Ms Mary Nyangoma, who were at cloud nines, said their sons revealed their intentions to join priesthood while in secondary school.
“They made a decision when they had grown up, I couldn’t stop them from doing what they like most, they have made my day today as a mother,” Nyangoma told Daily Monitor.
The twins priests (now) were born on February 19, 1990. They attended Nyakabale and Muhindi primary schools, Archbishop Bakyenga Vocational Secondary School for O-Level and St John’s Evangelist Minor Seminary for A-level between 2010&2011 before joining Alokolum Uganda Martyrs Major Seminary in Gulu for Philosophy( 2012-2015.)
In 2016, they joined St Paul’s Major Seminary Kinyamasika Fortportal for Theology.
They are the third born of 8 and two of the three male children of Mr. Siriako Kambere and Ms. Nyangoma Kambere.
According to the twins parents, Isingoma was the first to disclose his intentions to join the vocation and later Kato revealed after his Form Four.
In an ordination mass celebrated by the ordinary of Kasese, Francis Aquirinus Kibira, six seminarians were also ordained to deaconate.
In similar news, 10 deacons were also ordained priests and four seminarians to deaconate in a priestly and deaconate ordination held at Bujumbura cathedral in Hoima diocese , Hoima city.
Mass was celebrated by Bisho Vicent Kirabo of Hoima diocese.
Both Kasese and Hoima dioceses are the Ecclesiastical provinces of Mbarara Archdiocese led by Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha.
