In an attempt to end the dominance of the Allied Democratic Forces that give residents sleepless nights in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, the Uganda People’s Defense Forces and the Armed Forces of Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) have had two ADF rebel fighters surrender to them in a tough joint operation named operation shujaa.
The two rebel fighters reported to the Uganda people’s Defense Forces third battalion headquarters at kasindi , North Kivu yesterday, Sunday 6th August, 2023.
This was revealed by Major Bilal Katamba, public information officer for Mountain Division.
He also revealed that joint forces under Makindye battalion also killed two rebels in Mwalika valley and some ammunition were recovered.
“We recovered two sub machine guns, 15 round ammunition and walkie talkie” he said.
Seven abductees were rescued from the Allied Democratic Forces and are currently at the joint forces headquarters.

“We also managed to rescue seven abductees and they are at our joint office waiting for evacuation and subsequent rehabilitation process” katamba said.

ADF rebels willing to surrender peacefully have been urged to do so at the joint Forces unit in their Vicin.
