BUSHENYI
Police in Bushenyi District have arrested two men said to be boyfriends of a Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus student who was murdered on Friday night.
The deceased, Karunga Linette, 21, was reportedly killed on December 6, 2025, at around 8:00pm in Nyakashebeya Village, Nyabubare Sub-county.
The Greater Bushenyi acting Police spokesperson SP Tayebwa Apollo identified the suspects as Onan Nimwesiga and another only identified as Farouk. He said they were arrested to assist police in investigations.
Police visited and managed the crime scene before transferring the body to the KIU Teaching Hospital Ishaka mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
In related news, Police is also probing the murder of Jesca Bamuhongire, 70, a resident of Rukyenkye parish, Kanyabwanga sub county in Mitooma district. The deceased was allegedly assaulted by unknown people on December 8.
Police have condemned these stressful acts and appealed to members of the public with any information to come forward as investigations continue.
“We shall keep the public updated on any new developments,” Tayebwa urged.
