Police in Elgon region is investigating circumstances underwhich a 56 old man has committed suicide over a cheating wife.
Lawrence Wekomba, 56, a residents of Butsesoli village, Lukhonge sub-county in Mbale district is the victim of committing suicide by poisoning.
Wekomba reportedly called his brothers and informed them that he had taken poison after finding out that his wife had been cheating on him for a long time.
According to the Elgon region police spokesperson Rogers Taitika, the deceased was rushed to Lwaboba clinic for medical attention where he breathed his last on arrival.
Taitika confirmed that police has arrested the deceased wife a one Namuwenge Beatrice for questioning.
In related News, another similar incident has occured in Buyende district, where a man has allegedly committed suicide after his wife left him for another.
The deceased is Simon Taradi, a resident of Budhumbula-Bubanda village in Ngano subcounty.
According to John Nkuwe, the LCI chairperson, body of the deceased was found hanging on the rope inside his house.
It is alleged that Taradi has always threatened to cause self harm after his wife divorced him and got married to another man in the neighbourhood.
