A speeding Fuso-Kanta Truck Isuzu transporting construction materials has knocked dead two people in Namasuba along Entebbe road.
The accident occured toady (July 5) at around 8:00am at Namasuba road junction when a motor vehicle truck Reg No: UBF 561 knocked two motorcycles Bajaj Boxers Reg No: UFG 507A and UFW 245N killing two on the spot and another one injured.
The deceased are Ssesanga Paul, a Boda cyclist riding Boda Boda Reg No: UFG 507A and a female passenger yet to be identified. Both residents of Kikajjo Namasuba,in Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso District.
Truck driver was arrested as he attempted to flee the scene and he’s reportedly detained at Namasuba police station.
Police from Katwe arrived at the scene and impounded the motorcycles, motor vehicle involved in the accident while the deceased bodies have been taken to City Mortuary Mulago.
Locals inNamasuba have appealed to police to install road traffic lights at the junction saying that it has become a death trap to road users.
