Ukraine has agreed to ceasefire in the Ukraine -Russian war following US’ announcement to re extend aid to the country.
The agreement was reached at a meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Ukraine agreed to an immediate, interim 30-day cease-fire that was proposed by the White House representative.
During the meeting, US suggested they would end its pause on military aid to Ukraine.

Initially, Zelenskyy’s government had proposed for a limited ceasefire that would prevent both Kyiv and Moscow from conducting long-range aerial and sea-based attacks.
However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio insisted that US’ proposal for a 30-day ceasefire would apply to the entire conflict, including the front lines, where the majority of fatalities have occurred.
“You have to stop shooting at each other, and that’s what the president has wanted to see, and that’s the commitment we got today from the Ukrainian side,” Rubio said.
“We’ll take this offer now to the Russians. We hope the Russians will reciprocate,” Rubio added.
Once implemented, the ceasefire can be extended “by mutual agreement of the parties,” said the joint statement issued by Ukraine and the United States.
Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky said there is a need for the agreement stating that Ukraine is ready to accept this proposal.
“Ukraine is ready to accept this proposal, we see it as a positive step and are ready to take it. Now, it is up to the United States to convince Russia to do the same. If Russia agrees, the ceasefire will take effect immediately,” Zelenskyy said.
By press time, Moscow was yet to respond to the ceasefire terms. Parrots Media leaned that US will now hold talks with Putin and Russia in an attempt to try to get them to agree.
