The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) said on Wednesday that it will release 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results next week.
UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule said they will start with Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) before releasing Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results.
“We are finalizing the process for the release of the results. We are now handling the award process of the PLE. This will be followed by UCE awards next week.Thereafter we hope to have results released soon.” Kalule said.
The UNEB Executive Secretary Dan Odongo together with UNEB chairperson Prof Mary Okwakol are expected to brief the education Minister Janet Museveni on students’ performance in a meeting anticipated to take place on Tuesday June 22, 2021.
A total of 749,811 candidates sat for 2020 Primary Leaving Exams.
Girls constituted the majority number of registered candidates at 53% (395,855) while a total 353,956 (47%) were boys.
Out of these, 58 are inmates who sat for their exams from Luzira Maxim prison.
Over 68% of the candidates (513,091) are products of the Universal Primary Education program.
