KISORO
The UNHCR handed over infrastructure worth 178 million shillings to the Kisoro district local government at Bunagana primary school. The ceremony was attended by Kisoro RDC Hajji Shafiq Sekandi Sengoba and other political and technical leaders from the district.
The UNHCR co-coordinator for Kisoro district, Sharmake Hassan, expressed gratitude for the cooperative spirit and effective leadership that facilitated the timely completion of the project.
In addition to the three classroom block was a five stance VIP latrine that that was also handed over on the same day.
The Kisoro district Education officer praised the organization for its support, although he highlighted the shortage of adequate infrastructure at the school. The renovation of old and dilapidated structures would be prioritized under the DRDIP project in Kisoro.
The Kisoro district RDC emphasized that Bunagana residents could expect additional benefits such as monetary assistance and water tanks as a token of gratitude for accommodating refugees.
