The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) President, Hon. Jimmy Akena has on Tuesday (June 27) joined the UPC candidate, Dr. Apio Eunice Otuko and the campaign team in a bid to mobilize more support ahead of the July 6 – Oyam North County by-election.
The duo escorted by large crowds of supporters traversed Aleka subcounty and they once again received warm welcome from the voters.

Speaking at a rally, Hon. Jimmy Akena assured UPC supporters in Aleka and the whole of Oyam district that he is optimistic that their candidate, Dr. Apio Eunice will win the election with a landslide victory.
Akena dismissed speculations by some jealousy political elements that the UPC party is no longer active in Uganda’s politics.
“As long as I am alive and there is an opportunity to make our flag fly, UPC cannot be dead. We are going to continue to corporate and work hard such that UPC gets back to where it was from the beginning,” he emphasized.

Dr. Apio expressed concerns over raising schemes to rig the elections in Oyam North and warned against the practices.
She renewed her pledge to extend social services to the people of Oyam North and Uganda at large.

Electorates at the campaign commended Dr. Apio and expressed willingness to vote for her come July 6.
