Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) urges honesty and absolute integrity on public and civil servants amid high-level corruption practices
“Leaders and civil servants at all levels of administration are urged to be faithful in the execution of their duties, serve diligently and fight any partners of corruption that is affecting quality service delivery and ruining national development in our country,” UPC urged
Concern was expressed by the UPC spokesperson, Sharon Arach Oyat representing the party message in response to forthcoming Easter festives. Arach was speaking to journalists at party headquarters, Uganda House Kampala on Wednesday.
The Biblical illusive Arach quoting Jesus’ disciple Judas Iscariot who betrayed him for 30 silver coins said honesty is a priceless asset for public and civil servants because they form an inherent part of national development.
UPC further expressed commitment to constructively engage different political divides in national dialogue on reconciliation and forgiveness which they say is vital in processes of nation building.
“This country needs forgiveness, reconciliation and cherish peace for national development,” Arach said
The party appeals to christians to use the Easter season to reflect on their challenges, forgive one another, renew their faith and ensure commitment to Christianity and its principles.
“Easter season is a period of hope… The resurrection of Christ gives us living hope in whatever we do that things can positively change and we therefore need to be faithful and soldier on regardless of the challenges at hand.” Arach said
