The meeting focused on how to make UPC more vibrant and very active in Busoga which calls for effective mobilization and recruitment of Party members. The Vice President reminded leaders that Busoga was one of the strongholds of UPC which needs to be restored.

He called upon the leaders to understand their roles as leaders in their respective capacities and execute their duties accordingly as well as making accountability. He emphasized the need to fully understand the values, aims and objectives, and ideology of the Party.

Hajji Fahad encouraged members to make enough preparations and always offer themselves for elections in any elective positions. However, he carried the Party President Hon. Jimmy Akena’s message that let members weigh themselves and strategically stand in elective positions which are manageable and will yield victory at the end of the day!

Much as the leaders called for bridging some gaps in engagement with structures, the Vice President also encouraged them to embrace the bottom-up approach.

The leaders thanked the Vice President for convening a fruitful meeting and called for regular strategic meetings which will ensure effective mobilization.

The Vice President was flanked by the UPC Regional Vice Chairperson for Busoga Mr. Ayub Mwambala and the Party Electoral Commission (PEC) Commissioner Mr. Emmanuel Magero. In attendance were the district chairpersons, youth leaders, and women leaders of the said districts.
