Uganda’s National Women’s Cricket Team, the Victoria Pearls, will face off against three other nations in the Lyca Women’s Day Cup series, hosted by the Uganda Cricket Association at Entebbe Cricket Oval starting this Friday.
According to the Uganda Cricket Association, the LYCA Women’s Day Cup competition has been organized to celebrate the progress of women’s cricket and inspire future generations of female cricketers.

The competing teams—Uganda, Nepal, Namibia, and Hong Kong—will be focused not only on T20I ranking points but also on securing cricketing supremacy in this highly anticipated showdown in Entebbe.
As the host nation, the Victoria Pearls will aim to capitalize on their home advantage as they face formidable opposition from the visiting teams.
On Friday, the Uganda Cricket Association announced the Victoria Pearls squad, which will be led by the team’s current captain, Janet Mbabazi, with former captain Consy Aweko also included in the lineup.

The Victoria Pearls will kick off the tournament with a match against Hong Kong on Saturday, March 8th, at Entebbe Oval. The tournament’s final will be held on Sunday, March 16th, 2025.
