The vice president of Uganda Rtd.Maj. Jessica Alupo has called on students to resort to peace and dialogue as a way of solving any kind of conflicts that they come across.

Alupo said this while launching the first ever National ICT job fair at Makerere university that has been organized by the ministry of ICT, Huawei technologies and the university council.

The vice president has relied on the recent death tragedy where a Uganda Christian university student Michael Bewatte Betungula was stabbed to death during the guild elections campaign at Makerere University.

“Choose peace and dialogue as the best mechanism of resolving any conflict that you might intervene amongst yourselves, the administration or any other partner,” Alupo advised.

She says Uganda is very much committed to supporting the ICT program to enable youth develop initiative ideas and join the employment world.

“This will ensure that our youth have access to suitable facilities where to develop their innovative ideas into ICT innovation solutions across the country,” she noted.

Jeaica Alupo, Vice President of the republic of Uganda

State minister for ICT Owek Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo has tasked the youths to utilize all the opportunities for a better transformation.

“It is important to recognize now more than ever, the fast-tuning ICT and Communication environment with all its different options and take advantage of it. The government has ensured that mechanism and structures are put in place to enable information access and utilization of ICTs as emerging technologies and innovations as per the existing legal framework,” she said.
